Blog Happy

My, my, my. Hmmm, I'm blogging a lot today, aren't I? Three posts!

Well, I just couldn't help it, I have to share my newest idea! I think I'm going to try designing another sweater. The Classic Twist Sweater is coming along very well (I've finished the back and have started the front), so I am getting itchy for something new.

I recently purchased a few skeins of Patons Decor yarn in country blue, and thought I might design a sweater for a man (not stating which man, so don't try guessing which one is yours, Josh :). I also have two skeins of Patons Decor in a greyish white which I would pair beautifully with the blue.

I thought a simple drop-sleeved sweater with a cabled band across the chest would look very nice. The band will be knit in the grey/white yarn. I'm not sure, yet, if I'll knit the cuffs in a corresponding cable (in blue, though). Perhaps that would be too much. My mum is always telling me, "you've got to know when to quit, Rach. Don't overdo it!". So, you knitters or fashionistas out there, do I knit the cuffs in simple ribbing, or use a cabled band?

Like my designing template? It's a paper bag - the only thing I had to hand when inspiration hit!

The design looks great! I think the ribbing at the bottom of the sweater body and cuffs should match for a unified look. I like the contrast cable across the chest. Looking forward to seeing you knit it up!

Hey RAch,

I found a yarn/craft shop in Hartwell. Have you been there? Well, when I was visiting Opa and Oma, I asked them if they had a bead shop in town....Oma took me to this craft shop that was LOADED with yarn. You MUST go there when you visit Op/ma again. It has your name written all over it! They were also branching out into beads...because I can't go into a shop like that and not buy something I bought a few beads! :) Oh, I also FINALLY finished my high school album. It is SUCH a relief to be done. I had all the scraps and pictures sitting around for years. Now, their neatly (and very nicely) arranged in a Creative Memories denim album. Since the album has denim on the outside (symbolizing my love of jeans), I thought I'd find some iron-on patches to decorate the outside. I know Michael's has some...Scrapbooking my life has been the ultimate therapy. It's great to turn memories (sometimes painful memories) into great art and scrapbook pages! :) Mike made me laugh when he was looking over some of my pages and was baffled that I would spend hours on pages with pictures of people from almost 20 years ago that I don't even know....You scrapbookers know what I'm talking about! :) Well, it's so great to be done.

Now, I'm going into another book...it'll be my Rick Jones/BJU days. Should be great fun! :) I'm also doing one for Mike's bday of his life. I'll be busy this and next month!

Love, Angie
