I am so thankful for all the fun things there are to do in our little town. Although F- - - isn't a very large town, there's a surprising number of free or affordable entertainment options available for families.
On Saturday, Andy had to work, so I decided to take the kids on a little train ride at the antique Silvercreek Train Depot. One of my students volunteers for the train, so she was able to hook me up with the schedule and fees.
Shannon is a really sweet girl, and she even gave Peter a special whistle that blows a sound very similar to the train's whistle!
The train crosses over two small creeks (hence the "Silvercreek" name), and when it does, the conductor gives the customary "toot" which is really quite loud! Peter didn't like the sound at all, and kept covering his eyes, until I demonstrated the proper means of lessening sound. After that, he was much happier.
The train only runs on special weekends, and the next time it'll be running is over the July 4th holiday. My parents should be here visiting during that time, so I'm hoping we can go for another trip!

Caleb will like the train, and he will love taking care of his little cuz. :) He is talking about the trip now. I love how you had to show Petesy how to mask the sounds. Yep the ears work. :)
What fun! With a genuine conductor... coolness...
