Crafting

Last night I felt like sewing something, and since the kids went to bed early, I was able to actually work uninterrupted! I think the lack of interruptions has a lot to do with how pleased I am with the results of my sewing. Usually, I encounter all sorts of problems mid-project, and I'm reduced to spending most of my sewing time ripping and swearing (well, politely muttering under my breath . . .). However, this time I got through sewing the cushions without ANY catastrophes! And, it only took me an hour and a half! (Okay, I realize the last sentence isn't grammatically correct - it's my blog, so there.) Woo hoo! This morning it was so relaxing to sit out on the nice soft cushions and do my devotions. It was a bit hard to concentrate, though, because the birds were making such a beautiful racket! Oh well, I don't think the Lord minded my admiring His creation!

Speaking of creations, I'm finally making some headway on the "Impossible Dress". After some heart-rending ripping out, I re-knitted and finished the skirt portion. Now I'm on the bodice, and I think it's coming along nicely. However, I'm not holding my breath, as this awful dress has a way of slyly tripping me up unawares. *Sigh*. I'm concentrating solely on this project right now, because I want to get it behind me (it's rather like having a tooth pulled; just get it done and over with already!)
I have to say, though, I'm rather enjoying the double moss stitch on the bodice. At least it helps me keep track of my stitches, as it's pretty obvious what to do next. Hopefully the next post about the "Impossible Dress" I'll be much further along!

Those cushions look so much like Mom's old wicker cushions. I can't wait to sit on the front porch sipping tea (after the sun goes down a bit, of course...I'm sure it's rather hot in the summer). :)

I'm so wiped out from this weekend...I'm actually going to bed BEFORE midnight. Have a great day...Oh, I hope Baby Banna is ok from her fall. Let me know. Love, Angie

I love your cushions, you did a supurb job btw! Your porch looks very inviting. I really hope the rest of the dress goes easily for you (quickly too!).
