I love roses, and every year I plant more and more. I think I have a knack for growing them, because they always do so well for me and don't require a lot of care. I find this rather amusing, because my Oma, who had a business growing and selling orchids for years, cannot seem to grow roses. I, however, can grow roses, but have absolutely NO talent for orchids (*sigh*). I guess each person has to find their particular "plant"!
This is the first rose bouquet of the summer, and the roses are from different bushes I've planted around the house.
My personal favorite rose is called Double Delight. It's hardy, has an exquisite scent (quite strong, too!), and flowers almost all summer long. This particular rose bush grows close to my laundry line, and in late summer my clothes even carry the scent of the roses!
Some of the filler plants in the bouquet are fairly recent editions to my garden (last Fall). I think the gray plant is called Artemisia, and the red/pink spray is called Coral Bells (I think).
I haven't yet made a bouquet from the roses in front of the house, because they are quite vicious about being picked. Quite pretty, but rather snooty roses!

BEAUTIFUL! I love, love, love your bouquet! Roses are my FAVORITE, and I mean that wholeheartedly. I have almost a passion for the flower - but alas, at our current home the property does not lend itself to roses very well. I have a couple of hedge roses and one climber. SOMEDAY I am going to have a full-blown rose garden. Absolutely gorgeous, Rachel. I almost bought some coral bells the other day when at a nursery. They are quite pretty too. Isn't it so much fun to plant flowers and see how they grow, spread, change, etc.? Happy gardening!
Those roses are so gorgeous! What beautiful bouquets. (I don't have much luck with orchids either; they get bigger, but won't flower. I'm a total African Violet person.)
I keep telling my hubby that I want a rose garden but he keeps reminding me that since he does all the yard work it's really not my decission. Oh well....... yours are beautiful
I love your roses, I adore them too. I alas do not have a green thumb indoors, or outdoors. I don't even like to do yard work, but my hubby loves it. Landscaping is one of his favorite things, and he's wonderful at it in my unbiased opinion lol!
I think you have a talent for arranging flowers, as well as growing them. That bouquet is really quite beautiful!
How gorgeous!I have a special talent for growing things too. They are called careless weeds around here! But we do have a new house and are just starting the yard so maybe in a year or two I will have some pretties too.
Beautiful! We had roses at the old place that grew despite our neglect. I should plant some here and hope the deer don't eat them.
Looks awesome... I love it... absolutely beautiful!
Wow...I expect to have a single rose on my pillow every morning when I'm there...Ha! How beautiful! You actually make me sick....I have a brown thumb...actually two of them. The best plants for me are plastic or fabric ones! Ha!
