Four Miles and All Tuckered Out!

This morning the kids and I went biking on the Jane Addams Trail again. It's good exercise, and I'm trying to go at least once or twice a week.

It's a bit secluded in some spots, so I try to always bring someone with me, just to be safe. Today, Zach was kind enough to accompany us, and even pulled Peter for most of the way!

You see, Peter, although he looks Dutch, definitely runs on "Hawaiian Time". Poor little guy! His high-speed and slow-speed are about the same, and there's no way he could keep up with us. However, I have no intention of wearing myself out biking without wearing him out, too! I tied a long cord to his bike, and attached it to the back of mine or Zach's and he trundled merrily along!

Peter was thrilled when Zach found a turtle alongside the trail!

Peter and Breanna were all tuckered out after a hot morning on the trail!

Sounds like so much fun! I love getting out with the kids like this. I also love to see kids sleep - so sweet and innocent looking. Peter's a cutie for sure... he'll be breaking some hearts later on down the road! LOL. Hope you have a great afternoon.

Aw, so cute! (Especially the last photo).

Sadly, I gave up on biking after I purchased a bike that seemed intent on killing me. Every time I applied the brakes, no matter how gently, the stupid thing would attempt to fling me into oncoming traffic.

Hey Rach,

This must be the trail that we are going to try...looks great! Can't wait....Oh, I hate to nag, but please be sure to put a helmet on Peter once he start riding more. Want to keep my little Petesy Wetesy safe! :) I cannot believe I'll be up there in a 3 weeks! Yeah...Love, Angie

I just love looking at sleeping kids. They can go from a flury of non stop activity to looking so peaceful in the blink of an eye. We lay down and our minds flip thru a list of everything we need to do, say, get ready, buy, sell, start, stop, etc. They lay down and the world just stops until they wake to greet it again.
