Just a Bit of Knitting

With all the canning I've been doing lately, I haven't had much time to knit. I've been able to snatch bits and pieces here and there, so I have a few things to show for my work, but not as much as I'd like. Hopefully the garden will die soon so I'll get a break.

I managed to finish the second sock for my friend Elise. She lives up north of me, so I don't know when I'll be able to get it to her, but hopefully soon. We've had a bit of a chill in the air this past week, so it's definitely sock-wearing weather!Pattern: Naragansett Bay Socks from A Fine Fleece
Yarn: Knitpicks Bare Fingering Sock Yarn
Needles: Knitpicks size 1 circulars (just got it, and I LOVE it! Every bit as good as Addi, and MUCH cheaper.)

This is a little sock I've knitted for Miss Boo with leftover bits of sock yarn I kept in my stash. I still have to knit the second one. Hopefully I'll get it done before she loses the first one, as she keeps wearing it around the house, and then taking it off to switch it to her other foot, the little Diva.

Pattern: Basic sock with 36 stitches
Yarn: Sandy's Palette Merino Sox
Needles: US size 2

Finally, I couldn't resist casting on for something bigger. As I said earlier, we had a bit of a cold snap, and I had the irrisitible urge to knit a cardigan. I just LOVE the cables on this sleeve, and I can't wait to get to the body of the cardigan. I decided to skip the swatch (stop screaming in terror) and just knit the sleeve as my swatch. Thankfully it came out perfectly the first time, I didn't have to frog anything. (For you non-knitters, frogging is the dreaded term that means "ripped it out". Get it? "Rip-it, rip-it" = frogging. Don't groan, I didn't come up with it, it's an official knitting term.)
Pattern: Must Have Cardigan
Yarn: Pattons Merino Wool in some sort of heathered brown color - very soft
Needles: US size 6 and 5

That's a really beautiful cardigan pattern, and what you have going so far looks splendid :)

If I were a sock knitter, I would knit the ones you just finished because the pattern is so fetching.

I love your socks as well...you have to get the second sock done for Miss Boo so she can wear both socks at the same time. She must really love her new sock :)

happy knitting :)
