Christmas Pictures

We're too frugal (i.e. cheap and stingy) to pay for professional portraits, so usually once a year I take up the notion to torture my family with a photo shoot. It's always a bit of a juggling act 1) getting them dressed in matching colors, 2) keeping them dressed without getting dirty, and 3) getting them to hold still long enough for the picture to capture their image. Looking happy is merely a toss-up.

This year, I was fairly pleased with the results. Peter's picture didn't come out as well as I'd like, but that's mostly because I made a bad decision to put him in a red sweater, and my camera doesn't do well with reds. Oh well, every time I do this it's a learning experience!

(Although, I did find it rather funny when Handyman started semi-yelling/sternly admonishing the kids to, "quit wiggling and smile like you're having fun"!)

The pic of Baby Gaby is the best I've seen yet. I love his little sweater, he looks SO cute!!! Bonna Boo seems to be older and its only been a few months since I've seen her. Can't wait to squeeze them all!

Awww... you have some cute kiddos! I adore the first picture of Gabe! I love his big beautiful eyes!

I'm cheap too... Still haven't taken Eli to a "real" studio ever... :)

Very cute, of course you started with good material. Peter looks so grown up in his glasses.

Adorable! Each and every one of them. Who needs professional photos? These are much more intimate.

And the admonishment to 'look like you're having fun' sounds very familiar :-)

You have a beautiful family and I especially love the photos of your kids, they're all so cute. I have a challenge with photographing red too, but I think he came out well and has a wonderful smile.
