Aloha-pologieTee

I love Anthropologie fashions. I love the ruffles. I love the antique-meets-50's simplicity style.

I don't love the price.

What's a girl with a serious ruffle-fetish to do? Why, make my own design, of course!

While I was shopping at Walmart, I saw a decently made long-sleeved tee that was $5. I bought the tee along with another similarly colored long-sleeved tee that was only $1. I used the X-large $1 tee to make a ruffle.
Using my husband's confiscated ruler I cut out two strips of fabric 3 inches wide and about 45 inches long.
I didn't bother to seam the open edge as I'd cut it with pinking shears and sewed a loose stitch on the other edge so that I could gather the fabric and create a ruffle.
Once I had my two ruffles made I pinned them to one side of the neck and sewed them down with my sewing machine.
That was it! I'm so thrilled with how this came out, and best yet, the total price was only $6! That's a lot better than the $78 Anthropologie might charge!
