Floatin' Down, the Misterslippi . . .

. . . we who grew up with Patch the Pirate songs will recognize the reference.

Anyway, a few weeks ago Handyman and I had the opportunity to go on a riverboat dinner cruise down the Mississippi River with his parents and some co-workers, courtesy of the Mahon's, a family they sometimes do work for.
 
The drive to Dubuque took us awhile, but the scenery was very pretty and the company even better.




There were even cute little gift cups ready for us on the table!




I'm not sure why a riverboat cruising up the Mississippi was flying the Union Jack, but perhaps it was a nefarious scheme to restart the War of 1812 . . .

Just lovely.
