My First Pattern Post
I finally got my mittens done, and it turned out that I didn't have to buy an extra skein of yarn. I found a three-foot leftover strand from my hat that I used to complete the mitten. All that craziness for nothing!
I did end up frogging the first mitten, because I just hated the fit. I decided to actually write down the pattern, just in case I or anyone else wants to try this revised pattern. I used a cabled braid on the front, but you could easily substitute any other cable pattern that fits over 6 stitches (or do no cable at all). I wanted a braid so it would match the hat pattern I used from Knitty. Hopefully I'll have more interesting pictures of my hat and mittens later.
I'm going to post the pattern to my sidebar for future reference, if you should want to look it up later.

Oh wow- that mitten just turned out fabulously! I love the cable, it matches the hat just perfectly. What a great set. Mittens are funny about the fit, when you said you frogged the first one I felt a familiar feeling wash over me. You know I've experienced mitten troubles of my own. Again, wow the mitten is beautiful!
Thanks for posting the pattern for the mitten. I've bookmarked it and will print it out and give it a try!
I know ATL is no where as chilly as up there, but I have found that I need two essential things to ensure that I don't feel cold all day...nice warm socks and gloves. Those look so nice and warm. Hope you get years of enjoyment from them! :) We are heading up to Blue Ridge in one day. I have tons of laundry to do tomorrow...looks like I"ll be at the laundromat. Ha! Love ya, Ang
