Let it Snow, Let it Snow . . . .

This weather is unbelievable! It has been snowing since 8:00 this morning, and it's only getting worse. I don't know if I'll have to do any teaching today - with weather this cold, students will have to spend their entire lesson time thawing their frozen digits!

Did you notice the Christmas garland on my porch railings? One of my New Years resolutions is to get it put away by July. Originally, I planned to have it put away by February, but that's not happening. I'm sorry if my decorating style is offensive to those "Martha Stewarts" out there, but it's just too %(*#&$ cold to go outside merely for fashion!

Yesterday I was feeling sorry for myself because the kids were cranky and my washing machine was cranky, and I was cranky, too. Well, the Lord gave me a quick "kick in the rear" reminder that I have things pretty good. My neighbor came over asking for a bucket of hot water, because all the pipes in her house were frozen, and her heater isn't working right. Did I mention that it is 5 degrees BELOW zero (with wind chill factor of 25 below)? The poor woman's heater wasn't working! I am sooooooo spoiled to be sitting here with my cup of hot tea and nicely warmed house.

Today, we are baking Chocolate Brownie Cookies. One of my students gave me this recipe, and it's fabulous. Soft and gooey centers with melted chocolate chips - is there anything in life better than chocolate? I love the phrase I once read in a coffee shop: "Forget love - fall in chocolate!". If I get requests, I'll publish the recipe when i have a chance.

Love, Love, LOVE your new sweater! Excellent job, Rachel. I am sitting here thinking about these cookies of yours... ... :) If you wouldn't mind passing along the recipe, I'd love to give them a try. You talk about your yarn/knitting, Renee talks about her coupons, ... I guess I'm sort of a recipe collector and LOVE to cook and try new things in the kitchen... (ESPECIALLY when it involves chocolate!) ;) I can't get over how MUCH your little Bre looks like our Lilli from the back! They could be doubles for each other! hee hee. -She's too cute in her little footie pajamas. Anyway,... try to stay warm! Love you guys.
