Birthday Fun

As I mentioned earlier, my husband and I both have our birthdays on the same day, making for an interesting event! One has conflicting emotions between wanting to be spoiled, and wanting to thoroughly spoil the one you love. Ah well. More about that later . . . .

I had such a lovely day. The weather was simply horrid, though. On our way to Rockford, we were hit with a torrential downpour. I was forced to drive 30 miles per hour, instead of the usual 65 miles per hour speed limit, due to the amount of water on the road and the lack of visibility. Still, by the time we got to Rockford, the rain had mostly stopped, leaving the air with that wonderfully fresh smell.

We ate at my favorite restaurant, Don Pablos, and then headed back home to play a nice game of Settlers, which I won. (What a great birthday, huh!)

Imagine my surprise to find an even nicer present waiting for me! Andy knows how much I drink tea - okay, just about everyone knows that about me! Alas, my pour teapots have a rather short shelf life (pun fully intended). So, what did my clever husband do? Why, purchase me a stunningly gorgeous cast iron teapot. Hopefully, even I can't break this one!

Glad you made it to your destination safely! I'd have been scared out of my witts at having to drive in that (I had an accident a few years ago where I rolled my car in a snowstorm and driving in snow or rain or at night now scares me).

What a cool looking teapot!

Sounds like a wonderful birthday for both of you! The teapot is beautiful. If you get it hot with water before you make tea in it, the cast iron will keep the tea hot for a long time.

I LOVE pictures of all of you. The picture of you and Andy with your hats is priceless. I love the way Baby Bannnna looks like she's about to dive into the chips or something! :)

What a cool teapot...you know I was so torn between what to give you for your bday...you are the best person to buy for, because, like me, you have lots of things you would love to have! That's so much nicer than trying to buy something for someone who is difficult to shop for or who doesn't know what they want! I hope the jewelry is holding up. Please let me know if anything happens to it. I have some reserve beads...

Looks like you both had great bdays...can't wait to see pics from tonight! ;)

Happy Birthday to you too! That's an adorable teapot, & it made me laugh because my brother, also an Andy, got his wife a cast iron teapot for her birthday a couple months ago. Great Andy's minds think alike, I guess.
