Progress Stalled

I have been meaning to post in-progress pictures of the Must Have Cardigan, but every time I take a picture, by the time I'm ready to blog it, I've gotten another section done. Oh well!

I just LOVE the way this cardigan is coming out. I finished knitting and seaming it, and I even did the responsible thing and wove in the loose ends, something I find tedious. The cable patterns were so interesting that I never bored of knitting them, and I think I'd even be willing to knit another cardigan in the same pattern (for someone else, of course, as I don't need two exactly the same.)I altered the pattern slightly by making it 2 inches wider, 4 inches longer, and putting in waist shaping so it wouldn't look bulky around the middle. The original pattern is straight at the sides and rather short (21 inches long?), and I think that always makes women look boxy-shaped. I was completely thrilled to discover that my calculations were correct. (Can we all gasp in astonishment here?) Woo-hoo, I'm finally getting the hang of knitting a sweater to fit!
I could technically wear it as it is, but I think I'll block it a bit in hopes that it will drape a bit better. The warmth of this thing is lovely, though, so it's also nice as a rather clingy cardigan.

I got buttons from JoAnn Fabrics, but unfortunately they didn't have enough for me to finish this cardigan completely. Bother. I will have to wait until they get another order of buttons in so that I can wear this thing in public without looking ridiculous. Well, more ridiculous than usual, that is!I'll post official modeled pictures once buttons are sewn in and it's blocked!

Pattern: Must Have Cardigan

OMG, I can't believe you've almost finished that sweater since our meeting! I haven't even finished my dumb bunny! LOL

Well let me be the first to volunteer to graciously accept that 2nd cardigan if you are just aching to make a 2nd one! ;0p

Fabulous! It looks great on you!

I hope JoAnn Fabrics hurries up with their button order. It does look like you could get away with moving that top button to a different button-hole, though. (The button you didn't fasten.) That might make the sweater a bit more wearable while waiting for more buttons to arrive.
