Wow I'm Behind!

We just got back from a nice long vacation to the Sunny South (where we bravely forged our way through 104 degree temps), but I still have a lot of pre-vacation pics to post.

A few weeks ago, the kids and I, along with some friends and their broods met up at the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison, WI.

We saw prairie dogs . . .

. . . as well as monkeys . . .

. . . and many other strange, weird creatures.

(Please notice the little arm above Miss Boo's head. That's baby Gabe's attempt to get into the family photo collage.)

(Or, perhaps he's just trying to pull his sister's hair.)

The weather was hot, but not too bad, and the zoo is the perfect size for little kids. We were able to see just enough to keep the kids happy, but it wasn't so overwhelming that we had crying mothers.

I'm not entirely sure what these two creatures are. I surmise they're some mix of T-rex with a splash of tiger mixed with a dash of black bear.

Terrifying, whatever they are!
