My sister's birthday is this week, and I decided to knit her a pair of socks as a present. For some reason, I procrastinated until the last minute, and then in true Alohaknitter idiotic fashion decided to pick the $#$@&^%$# hardest sock pattern I've ever knitted, thinking that it would be a breeze to get done in time.
Heh.Anyway, a few months ago my dear Mum kindly splurged for me and bought me Cookie A.'s fabulous book, Sock Innovation, and I've been slavering to knit something from it ever since I got my greedy little hands on it.
Since I liked every pattern in the book, I just flipped it open and started knitting the first pattern the book opened to, a sock pattern named Vilai.
It has lots of intricate cross overs and knitting through back loops.
It has something different happening on every row.
It was extremely complicated.
I loved knitting it every moment. A great pattern knit in a great color for a great sister!
Happy Birthday Lynn, and when you wear your socks, just remember they've been knit with lots of love and prayers!
(For non-knitters out there, socks are really special hugs for the sole.)
You may all groan in chorus now.
