So what's a gal to do when she wants a new pair of shoes, but doesn't want to tell her Handyman that those same shoes will cost $80?
Bribery rates have gone up lately, because a pair of shoes equals TWO pairs of hand knit socks. These were the first pair I was able to finish, and definitely a nice pattern to work. The cuff was interesting without being too difficult to manage while carrying on a conversation or watching TV.
Look at all that welt action going on at the cuff! (That's what that wobbly line thing is called; a welt.)
Ah yes, it was a bit of a wrench to give those away. Thankfully, my conscience (*cough cough* threat of my Mum's accomplished wielding of guilt) enabled me to do the honorable thing and package up these beauties.

Oh and don't forget I had to go out and buy a new pair of shoes to go with the socks! You forgot to post my pics of the shoes!! I love those socks and will wait patiently for colder weather so I can wear them :) Thanks Rachel xoxo
Ahh Shape Ups...they're all the rage I hear. A lady I work with just got some and said she really likes them. They look comfortable. I might have to run out and get some for myself too. :-)
Cool socks btw!!
I want to know what you honestly think about these shoes after you've had them for a while.... have been trying to locate someone who owns a pair and haven't been successful. I'm just curious.
Those socks are absolutely GORGEOUS.
If only I could make socks to bribe people with... hm.
