Van Gogh Socks

I'm half Dutch, so naturally when I saw a yarn that combined my favorite hobby with one of my favorite artists, I was smitten.

Usually I can't stand Opal Yarn's palette choices, but this particular line is simply beautiful.

This yarn's colors were chosen from Van Gogh's Bridge Trinquetaille.

This was especially fun for me as I'd not seen this painting before, and I love how the colors in the painting mirror the colors of the socks.

This pair is meant to be a present, so I've got them safely tucked away until it's time to gift them!

Oooh, what a lovely idea! My Father's favorite picture was Van Gogh's Starry Night. He poked his eye with a scissors when he was 4 and had a cornea transplant (had a cow's cornea--this would have been in 1942 or so). He said that Starry Night showed how he really saw things.
