Blue Glass and Silver

This lovely necklace is just the thing to complete an outfit.

The necklace is about 15" long, and is constructed of heavy-duty fastenings so that it won't break apart as easily as regular store-bought necklaces.

The earrings have attached hoops, but if they're too big for your fancy, let me know and I'll just add the bead to make the earrings smaller.

An Intervention Might Be Required

I have to stop checking out Anthropologie's website. I look at all the pretties and am inspired to try to make my own (cheaper) versions. My closet is starting to look like a Victorian June Cleaver convention was held in there!

This was one of the necklaces that caught my eye, so I headed to the Salvation Army to see what sorts of hideous jewelry they had that I could make over into something I liked better.

I got $4 worth of necklaces, pins, and other odd assortments and starting pulling everything apart. When I finished, I had this!

I know it's a bit over-the top for most outfits, but with my new ruffly off-white tee or my green rosette cardigan I think it will look very nice.

Restocking

Our van has been in the shop the last few days, and I've discovered that when I don't go anywhere, I have more free time. (What can I say; my deductive skillz are positively Sherlockian.) I suspect that the amount of time saved from removing/buckling three wiggling children from car seats adds up to a tidy amount.

This afternoon I plinkered around a bit and put together some more bling for the shop, so I figured I'd post some pictures here as well.

The Bling

Scarves are one of my ultimate favorite fashion accessories, and this last winter I started wearing one with nearly every outfit. So, when the weather (finally) started to warm up a bit, it occurred to me that wearing a scarf in 90 degree weather may not be the smartest idea, no matter how much I adore my scarves.

I turned to my jewelry box for assistance, and decided to make a few long necklaces that would serve the same purpose as the scarves. I made a few extras to put in my Etsy Shop, so if you're interested, just take a peek!

*UPDATE: sorry, but I didn't realize I had the wrong link
down for my Etsy Shop. It should be correct now*

(I haven't had a chance yet to upload all the necklaces yet, so if you know you want an item, leave a comment with contact information and I'll get back with you.)

Angie Strikes Again!

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!My sister Angie can be such a sweetie, and it was so much fun spending time with her and her son, Caleb, while we were all in Memphis. She is an avid scrapbooker, and is currently re-doing all her old albums. She used to be a Creative Memories consultant, but has quit doing that, as she doesn't have the time to keep up that side of her business life. Well, what does my sweet sis do? She gave me her old rolling cart so that I don't have to use my cooler anymore. A part of me will miss my old cooler and it's retro-funky look, but I can't wait to step out to the next scrapbooker's meeting with my stylish new cart! (I bet you're wondering what I'll do with my old cooler. Use it as a cooler? Never! It will hold - yup, you guessed it - YARN!)

Then, she made me a beautiful necklace and earrings set. I just love jade and coral, and she cleverly put the two together to make a really cool ensemble! It falls just right, too. I hate wearing a necklace that's too long, and then you can't see the pendant.
Thanks so much, Ange. You're a great pal!
