Ahhhhhh, Wednesdays!

I used to have Fridays as my day off, but I recently switched it to Wednesday, and I'm glad I did. It's nice not having to teach on Friday, but with Saturday and Sunday right around the corner, that left almost a whole week with no catch-up time. Now that I'm not teaching on Wednesdays, I'm finding myself much more relaxed and able to catch up on things around the house.

This morning I was supposed to meet two friends at the park, but they never showed up. It was all good, though, because the kids still got to play at the playground, and I was able to take a nice long walk (which wasn't smart, as my broken toe keeps reminding me.)

Breanna (of course) spent most of the time at the playground on the swing. I think she's going to be an aerialist when she grows up. (Notice those feet kicking as fast as they can go!)

We even saw some geese and their little goslings toddling along near the river! Peter wanted to get out and chase them (typical boy), but the gander looked a bit cranky, so I made Peter stay in the stroller. Needless to say, he was very disappointed (Peter and the gander).

When we got back home, I did a quick tidy-up of the house (hmmm, I still have to finish the laundry, don't I?), and then we went out on the porch for a relaxing sit. I just love having those chairs on the porch, and I wish I'd gotten around to sewing the cushions sooner. It's such a nice place to relax!

I finally got the kids down for a nap at 3:00, and then I sat down to knit. This is a horrid picture of me scowling at the "Impossible Dress". Actually, "Miss Impossible" is behaving herself, and the dress is knitting up quickly, now. I've finished the back and right front, and still have the left front, sleeves, and lapel to knit. I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, though!

If you're ever up in my part of the country, which is northwest Illinois, (or just feel like taking a vacation), give me a comment and I'll invite you over! We can sit on the front porch and knit, drinking all sorts of wonderful things (hee hee!), eating cookies, and just taking life easy! I mean, wouldn't you love to be this relaxed?
(Mmm, oreos and comfy chair. This is the life . . .)

Thanks so much for the uplifting comments you always leave me. I appreciate them so much, and I won't quit blogging. I just get a little bit frustated sometimes. I'd miss you, and a few of the other friends I've made.

Glad "miss impossible" is behaving!
Breanna looks sooooooo relaxed. Don't you just love how they can just chill out like that? Your porch looks like the perfect spot to sit and knit!

Oh...forgot to add this. Broken toe? What broken toe?

yes,... I forgot to ask too... now you need to blog a post explaining the broken toe. Did I miss a previous post?

Broken toes are some of the worst! (ouch!) Hope it's better.

I was wondering about the broken toe too... Mom just broke hers right before B had her baby. It was pretty gruesome. B even took a picture of it because it was pointing in the opposite direction. Ow!
I do love your porch... I'll be coming over to chill, K? :)
