Oakdale

That sounds rather like a nursing home or retirement community, doesn't it? However, let me assure you that this Oakdale, at least, is not that sort of place.
Our Oakdale is a lovely little nature center that has miles of trails and a great hands-on exhibit center for children.

A few weeks ago our MOPS group met there for a change of scenery. Although I've been to Oakdale before, I've never taken the kids for an "official" tour.
Peter and Miss Boo were so excited to see all the stuffed animals and to feel the pelts and other display items.
(I don't think the animals were all that impressed.)
The staff did a wonderful job of keeping the children entertained with educational information. That's really saying a lot, as an entire squadron of children requires much patience and vocal strength.
It was such a fun experience, and I'm definitely going to bring the kids back there again.

The best part?

They were so worn out they all took four hour naps. Priceless.

FOUR HOUR NAPS?!!?!?! -That's awesome! LOL. :) The place sounds really neat! I love places that allow for a lot of exploration like that. The kids are so cute and look like they had a lot of fun. Sounds like a nice place to go for "a change of scenery." :)
